Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started with counselling?
You can begin by booking a consultation or initial session through the website or by clicking here. From there, we’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what support might look like, and whether this feels like a good fit. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting — we can take it one step at a time.
How does online therapy work?
Online therapy is provided through a secure, encrypted video platform that meets privacy standards in Ontario. Sessions feel similar to in-person therapy, but allow you to attend from the comfort of your home. As a therapist registered in Ontario, I can work with clients who are physically located anywhere in the province at the time of their session.
How long are therapy sessions?
Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes. This allows enough time to check in, explore what’s coming up for you, and gently work toward your goals without feeling rushed.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start with weekly or biweekly sessions, depending on their needs, capacity, and level of support. We can adjust the frequency over time — therapy is meant to fit into your life, not add more pressure.
When is the right time to start perinatal or postpartum therapy?
There is no “right” timeline. Some clients start therapy during pregnancy, others weeks, months, or even years postpartum. If you’re noticing emotional strain, identity confusion, or a sense that something feels off, that can be the right time to reach out.
Do you offer pregnancy and postpartum counselling online in Ontario?
Yes. I offer secure online therapy to clients across Ontario. Virtual counselling allows you to access support from home — whether that means joining sessions during naps, while feeding your baby, or without needing childcare. Online therapy can be just as effective as in-person support for perinatal and postpartum concerns.
What if I’m not sure my struggles are “serious enough” for therapy?
Many clients worry they’re not struggling “enough” to deserve support. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, disconnected, or simply not like yourself, therapy can help. Early parenthood is a major life transition — and transitions deserve care, not comparison.
